- Understand coaching as an empowering, non‑directive conversation, including its purpose and core principles
- Explore how trust, emotional safety, rapport, presence and attunement support reflective thinking and effective dialogue
- Develop focused, attentive listening skills, including recognising verbal and non‑verbal cues and using silence and pacing to create space for thinking
- Strengthen listening approaches that support safe and effective mentoring conversations, including qualities of focused listening and cues that support understanding
- Understand how reflection and insight develop, including patterns, beliefs and assumptions that influence thinking, and how reflective prompts support meaning‑making
- Learn how meaningful goals and small steps support movement and change, including ways to recognise and celebrate progress
- Inclusive practices and anti‑oppressive approaches in community work
